The Oslo Restaurant by Borja Garcia Studio in Spain is a restoration of a historic building into a cosy dining spot for people to gather and view the classic street facades. Located in a very rustic locale, it has been intricately designed with a minimalist touch that creates a nostalgic ambience for the décor. The building does have some history to incline and that is beautifully portrayed by retaining the unplaster finish of the walls. There are alternating courses of rustic brick walls with frosted glass panes engraved with simple calligraphy work. It brings out the finesse of the rustic interior décor and enhances the look by balancing the past with the present, a fusion with glass and brick walls.

Moreover, on entering the restaurant, it is much like being in a home, where diners can catch up with each other with the closely arranged furniture seats and tables. There are 2 levels in the restaurant, where the first level is a casual set up for light snacks over coffee and the second level is for fine dining with 3 different sections. The arrangement of seating is commendable where the restaurant is more suitable for casual dining and is a lot more relaxed.

At the second level, accessed by a brick staircase, there are 3 varied sections, with the largest one facing the street and then middle, followed by rear table arrangements. Lighting is taken care of by the hanging lamps and from the bright light pouring in through the windows from the street facade. The tables and seats are kept simple and not too heavy, so as to complement the look and feel of the décor. Mava wrought iron tables and simple ladle back furniture seats are perfect and cosy for the restaurant that can be re-arranged to suit any occasion. On the whole, a relaxed and laid back restaurant, the place is definitely a must to dine out spot in Spain.
